Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners Hearing on Oil & Gas Regulations (Phase 2b)

The Arapahoe Board of County Commissioners has invited the public to comment on proposed updates to its oil and gas regulations (known as phase 2b) before voting on whether to approve the amended rules. STAR has been active throughout the development of these amendments, as we continue to advocate for regulations that better protect humans, wildlife, and the environment around the Aurora Reservoir.

While not perfect, the amendments strengthen air quality monitoring requirements and introduce a new County-level inspection program. We believe these measures are a step in the right direction and we need residents to show up in support of these stronger regulations.
