Aurora Reservoir iNaturalist BioBlitz!

Hosted by the City of Aurora Open Spaces, this important educational event on Saturday, August 16 provides the opportunity to learn, connect, and be a part of a worldwide effort to document the natural world by participating in an iNaturalist BioBlitz (OSNR)! Join several STAR members and supporters, as we explore the wonders of biodiversity, using the power of citizen science to document and identify the diverse array of flora and fauna in our local ecosystem. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or a curious newcomer, contribute to a collective effort in creating a comprehensive snapshot of our environment while learning and connecting with fellow nature enthusiasts.
A BioBlitz is an intense period of biological surveying to record all the living species within a designated area. All you need to do to participate is bring a camera, either on your phone or digital. We will walk you through the rest!
Volunteers should read theĀ OSNR Volunteer Handbook before participating. A copy will be given to you during your first volunteer opportunity.
Children are welcome to attend with a parent present as well. Exact Aurora Reservoir meeting location will be shared with attendees.
RSVP is required. SIGN UP NOW!
The OSNR volunteer mission is to preserve open spaces that connect people with nature, today and in the future, through effective stewardship practices.
